Rap Poems – Come to our Poetry Celebration (Week 11)

Here’s another example of what you’ll see at the L3 Poetry Celebration (details below in another post):

Cakes (Rap)

By Eloise – 3/4O

Icing, toppings, in the oven it bakes

You know what I’m talking ’bout

I’m talking ’bout cakes

Banana, too

The sugary goodness flowing

all through you.

Cherry pie

All are easy

to make, if you try.

Marshmallow and Nutella

Cakes and toppings

I’ve never felt better!

L3 Performance at the School Fair – FRIDAY

Dear Students and Families,

This Friday, all Levels will be performing a song at the school fair.

Level 3 will perform on stage at the PE Shed (on the basketball court) at approximately 4:40pm.  Parents – Please help your children be at the PE Shed before 4:30pm to collect their costume and get ready to go on stage.

We require a very simple costume:

  1. baseball cap
  2. sunglasses, glasses (optional)

Please bring in your costume piece/s on Thursday – your class teacher will look after them for you and bring them down on the day of the school fair.

We look forward to seeing you there,

L3 Teachers

Poetry Open Day

Level 3 are opening our classroom doors on Tuesday 16th December between 8:45 and 9:30.

We invite you to visit our classes and explore the range of poetry we have been enjoying, reading and writing this term.

Here is a taste of the work you will see:

Australian outback

By Jake S   34K

The rusty bushes chatter

The red hard desert runs away

The bright blue moon wanders

The sky slowly moves away as the dark visits

The kookaburras laugh as you drive through

The kangaroos chase you

And the weather breathes

This is the Australian outback

26-Storey Treehouse Performance

Dear Students and Families,

As you’re aware, in Term 1, we took all of the Level 3 students to the Arts Centre Melbourne to see the play the ’13-Storey Treehouse’ based on Andy Griffiths and Terry Denton’s book of the same name (a favourite book in L3).

We were excited to see that there is another play based on the award-winning second book, the ’26-Storey Treehouse’, which will show in April next year.

Family fun for the April School Holidays!
Andy Griffiths’ & Terry Denton’s best-selling book The 26-Storey Treehouse comes to the stage for the April school holidays! They’re back! Yes, that’s right. Andy & Terry had such a ball with their crash-landing entry into the world of theatre with The 13-Storey Treehouse, they’re back for more. 13 storeys more, in fact. And you’re invited!
